Sources: Rangers ‘expecting’ Nicolas Raskin offers as price tag rockets
Rangers are bracing to receive offers for Nicolas Raskin ahead of the January transfer window after what has been a turbulent season so far.
Raskin clashed with Russell Martin earlier this season, but has since regained his position in the starting XI under Danny Rohl, raising questions about his long-term future.
Football Insider revealed in September that Raskin is more likely to stay at Rangers beyond the January window following his return to the side.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Rangers are preparing to receive offers for the midfield in the January window despite having no plans to let him go, and plan to increase his price tag again.
However, with just over 18 months remaining on his deal, there is a growing feeling that the club will be forced to accept offers next summer if he does not agree new terms.

Rangers make long-term Nicolas Raskin transfer plan
Football Insider revealed last month that Raskin is content to stay at Rangers beyond the January transfer window after returning to the starting XI at Ibrox.
That stance may be reconsidered when the summer window opens, although the club will be looking to receive a larger fee for his services.
Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, I explained: “I’m not sure the clubs that are interested in Raskin would be willing to fork out that money in January for the midfielder as well.
“He’s got 18 months left on his deal, and if he stays at Rangers until next summer, I’m sure there will be further interest in Raskin then then that might be the time to cash in.
“If he’s not going to sign a new deal, it might open the door for him.

“I’m sure the player himself would maybe be open to the opportunity of moving on and playing at a higher level as well as he wants to secure his place in the Belgium squad.
“Rangers are expecting further interest in Raskin in January and next summer as well, and they’ll just be hoping that his price tag will continue to rise.”
This comes after Football Insider revealed in August that Rangers were braced for bids for Raskin in the closing stages of the last window, although no formal offer arrived.
Rangers’ stance on selling Raskin in January
Football Insider revealed on 14 November that Rangers are reluctant to lose Raskin and have placed a significant price tag on him ahead of the mid-season window.
It would take a “big, big” offer to tempt Rangers into selling the midfielder in January, and sources say there are currently no clubs willing to match his price.
A number of top clubs in the Premier League and across Europe are keeping tabs on his situation, after Football Insider revealed that Raskin could be tempted to leave Rangers.

The likes of Tottenham and Leeds United are believed to be interested in a move and could lure him away from Ibrox with formal offers in January.
Raskin recently confessed he wants to be “loved” by a manager, hinting that the opposite had happened at Rangers given his frosty relationship with Martin.
