Sources: Rangers in advanced talks over Robbie Ure deal

Rangers are in advanced contract talks with Robbie Ure, sources have told Football Insider.

The 18-year-old’s camp met Ibrox officials last week for the latest set of negotiations and they are progressing well.

All parties are confident a full agreement over a long-term deal is now close and can be finalised soon.

His current deal is due to expire in the summer of 2023.

Ure made his first-team debut in last week’s (30 August) Scottish League Cup win over Queen of the South and he marked it with a goal.

The teenager opened the scoring in a 3-1 win with a close-range strike with Glen Kamara providing the assist.

Sources told Football Insider the day after the game (31 August) that the Gers were set to open talks with Ure over a new long-term contract.

The Glasgoweigan has been promoted to the first-team set-up this season after impressing in the youth teams and was on the bench for the 1-0 win over PSV Eindhoven in Champions League qualifying last month (24 August).

He already has two goals and three assists in the Lowland League for the club’s B team.

Rangers are focusing on securing their brightest young talents to new deals after the close of the transfer window.

This site reported last week (31 August) that they have also reached an agreement with right-back Adam Devine, 19, over a new deal.
