Sources: Rangers January signing priority revealed after star’s injury
Signing a striker is the priority for Rangers as the January transfer window approaches, sources have told Football Insider.
Philippe Clement’s side are targeting a new forward following the devastating injury to summer signing Danilo, who could reportedly miss four months of action after damaging his medial ligament against Hearts on 6 December.
Danilo, 24, had notched six goals and five assists before that injury.

Rangers have progressed to the last 16 of the Europa League after winning their group, which will boost the club and the Gers’ finances.
Clement, who succeeded Michael Beale in October, is now looking for a boost to his January transfer kitty as the new year approaches.
It is believed a new striker is high on the list of priority targets for the Belgian as he eyes success in the Scottish Premiership and in Europe.
He also has Cyril Dessers, Sam Lammers and Kemar Roofe to call on in attack – but the trio have hit just 11 combined goals so far in the 2023-24 campaign.
Danilo, Dessers and Lammers were all signed under previous boss Beale in the most recent summer window and are yet to make a real impact at Ibrox.
Roofe, 30, proved an unlikely hero for Rangers against Real Betis in the Europa League on Thursday (14 December), scoring the winner in Spain to secure safe passage to the last 16 as group winners.

Rangers will face their next European tie in March and sit second in the Scottish Premiership – five points adrift of leaders Celtic with a game in hand.
Clement has the opportunity to win his first silverware in Scotland when his side face Aberdeen in the League Cup final on Sunday (17 December).
