Sources: Rangers make move to sign Matija Frigan
Rangers have enquired about signing HNK Rijeka striker Matija Frigan as they look to add more firepower for next season, sources have told Football Insider.
The 20-year-old forward is on a shortlist of multiple options to replace Alfredo Morelos, whose Ibrox exit has been confirmed ahead of his contract expiry at the end of this month.
Rangers boss Michael Beale has spoken publicly about the need for major reinforcements and a lack of potency in the final third.
As such, it is believed that Frigan would be one of multiple forward signings for the Ibrox club should a potential deal progress.
However, Croatian giants Dinamo Zagreb have already launched a £3million bid for Frigan and talks are continuing over a summer swoop.
The youngster, who is out of contract in 2025, has starred for Croatian outfit HNK Rijeka in the 2022-23 campaign – drawing eyes from clubs across Europe.
Croatia Under-21 international Frigan has made 26 league appearances for Rijeka this season, netting 14 times and grabbing three assists.
Major League Soccer club New York City FC have also made an enquiry about his availability, along with a number of unknown clubs keen on signing the starlet.
Rangers confirmed the exits of Ryan Kent, Allan McGregor, Alfredo Morelos, Scott Arfield and Filip Helander on Tuesday (23 May).

Beale has gone public to state he has a better budget than managers in previous years as the Gers gear up for a summer overhaul.
The Glasgow giants are expected to announce a new signing on Wednesday (24 May) – with Kieran Dowell, Jack Butland, Dujon Sterling and Jose Cifuentes all close to completing moves.
