Sources: Rangers plan to accept ‘big’ Nicolas Raskin offer in January
Rangers are extremely reluctant to lose Nicolas Raskin and have placed a significant price tag on him ahead of the January transfer window.
Raskin clashed with Russell Martin earlier this season, placing a number of interested clubs on alert amid suggestions he could quit Rangers in the near future.
A number of top clubs in the Premier League and across Europe are keeping tabs on his situation, after Football Insider revealed that Raskin could be tempted to leave Rangers.
However, as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Rangers are hopeful of keeping the Belgium international at Ibrox beyond the January transfer window, and aim to price interested sides out of a move.
It would take a “big, big” offer to tempt Rangers into selling the midfielder in January, and sources say there are currently no clubs willing to match his price.

Rangers reluctant to lose Nicolas Raskin in January
Football Insider revealed on 13 September that Raskin could quit Rangers in January, with an exit looking certain while he was cast aside at Ibrox.
However, after making his mark on Danny Rohl‘s first-team plans, a move is now considered unlikely mid-way through the season, although a summer move has not been ruled out.
Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, I explained: “There was interest in Raskin in the summer window from a number of clubs in the Premier League and across Europe as well.
“There is still interest in the Belgium international and that’s not going to go away.
“I’m sure clubs are keeping tabs on the situation at Rangers. I don’t think Rangers ideally would want to lose him midway through the season.
“It would have to be a big, big fee for Rangers to even consider selling him, that’s what I think it would take for them to let him go in January.

“I’m not sure the clubs that are interested in Raskin would be willing to fork out that money in January for the midfielder as well.
“He’s got 18 months to run on his current deal, and I’m sure there will be further interest, and that might be the time to cash in on him instead.”
Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed last month that Raskin is content to stay at Rangers beyond the January transfer window after returning to the starting XI at Ibrox.
Raskin’s stance on Rangers exit in January revealed
Football Insider revealed last month that Raskin could be “tempted” to quit Rangers and make a move to the Premier League when the January window opens.
The likes of Tottenham and Leeds United are believed to be keeping tabs on his situation and could lure him away from Ibrox with formal offers in January.
This comes after suggestions the summer interest had turned his head and resulted in the eventual bust-up with Martin in the season’s opening stages.
Ally McCoist slammed Martin’s treatment of Raskin, warning that it could lead to his departure, but the situation remains unclear after Rohl’s appointment.
Football Insider revealed in August that Rangers were braced for bids for Raskin in the closing stages of the summer window, although no formal offer arrived.
