Sources: Rangers plan to accept Danilo offer after Ibrox teammate’s U-turn
Rangers are prepared to accept offers for Danilo in the closing stages of the window and hope to keep hold of Yossef Chermiti.
Chermiti had been widely expected to leave Ibrox in the mid-season window, but Danny Rohl now wants to keep the striker after his recent displays.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, Danilo is the more likely striker to be sold before the 2 February deadline.
Rohl still hopes to add a new striker to his squad in this window, which will likely allow Rangers to cash in on one of their fringe options.
This comes Rangers made an offer to sign Ryan Naderi from Hansa Rostock, and hope to reach an agreement for the forward in the coming days.
Rangers could cash in on Danilo in new twist
Football Insider revealed on 30 January that Rangers could sell Chermiti in the closing stages of the window if they bring another striker in.
However, Danilo is now considered the more likely of the pair to be let go after the former Everton forward worked his way back into Rohl’s plans.
Danilo has been on the fringes of the first-team squad this season, and has not started a Scottish Premiership game for Rangers since 3 December.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “I don’t think Rangers were that keen on letting Chermiti go, despite maybe the player not being consistent for them so far since his big money arrival from Everton in the summer.
“He’s got four goals in 25 appearances across all competition including those two memorable ones in the Old Firm game against Celtic which has won him favour.
“Rangers are looking to add more firepower to their squad before the end of the window. They’re in for a Hansa Rostock’s Ryan Naderi.

“If that deal was to happen then maybe something might happen with Chermiti going out.
“But I think there’ll be other players ahead of Chimiti that Rangers will be looking to probably offload the likes of Danilo, who is more likely to be sold.”
Rangers respond to Monaco’s Djeidi Gassama offer
Danilo is not the only player being linked with a move away from Ibrox in the closing stages of the window, with Djeidi Gassama‘s future also questioned.
However, Football Insider revealed on 30 January that Rangers are doing everything to keep Gassama at the club long-term despite interest from Monaco.
Monaco’s offer would have seen the 22-year-old make the switch to Ligue 1 on loan until the end of the season with a £10million obligation to buy.

That offer would not have been beneficial to the Ibrox club, and was swiftly rejected, while Rohl has no plans to lose any of his key players at this stage of the season.
The winger is now expected to stay at Ibrox despite that interest, with Rangers likely to turn down any other advances from Monaco or other interested parties.
