Sources: Rangers ready to accept Scott Wright offer as overhaul begins

Rangers are willing to listen to offers for Scott Wright as they prepare for a wide-ranging overhaul of their attack this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

The Ibrox club knocked back interest in the winger, 25, in January as he is seen as a valuable player in Michael Beale’s squad.

But that stance will change in the main summer window as Rangers look to build a team capable of ending Celtic’s domestic dominance.

Wright is one player Beale is willing to let go as he hinted at changes in the immediate aftermath of Sunday’s Scottish League Cup final defeat to Celtic.

English Championship clubs are believed to have made enquiries for the former Aberdeen star in the January window.

Rangers rejected the interest, but they are braced for formal offers ahead of the summer, and Wright could be one of multiple attacking exits.

Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent – both of who started against Ange Postecoglu’s side – are out of contract at the end of the season while injury-plagued Kemar Roofe also has an uncertain future.

Wright has made 79 appearances for Rangers since joining at the end of the January 2021 window for a knock-down fee when his contract was close to expiring at Aberdeen.

But he has struggled to be a regular starter under Beale as well as his predecessors Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Steven Gerrard.

His 29 matches this season have yielded a total of 886 minutes of matches, including only five Scottish Premiership starts and one in the Scottish League Cup.

Wright has yet to score this term and has supplied just two assists.

In total in a blue shirt, the former Scotland Under-21 international has accumulated eight goals and seven assists.
