Sources: Rangers signing blizzard as six deals agreed, done in next 48 hours

Six Rangers rising stars are set to sign their first professional contracts with the club on Sunday, sources have told Football Insider.

Our site revealed earlier on Friday that Cameron Scott, 16, has agreed a three-year pro deal with the Ibrox giants after opting to snub interest from Premier League clubs.

The in-demand Scott will be joined by five others in a Rangers signing blizzard that ends doubts over their futures.

Christopher Eadie, Lewis Stewart, Alfie Halliwell, Joshua Gentles and Lancelot Pollard have all agreed pro deals with the Glasgow outfit and are also set to sign on Sunday.

Rangers have only handed out five pro contracts in the last two years to academy prospects, but the club are set to heavily invest in their new batch of youngsters.

Eadie turns 16 this month and is rated highly by the coaching staff at Ibrox.

He was described as a “leading light” in the side having already been moved up to make a handful of appearances for the Under-18s this season.

Midfielder Stewart was also described as “one to watch” in the Rangers academy squad after an impressive season with the Under-17s.

Halliwell is the Under-17s goalkeeper and not only has shone with the Gers academy but has also gathered experience on the international stage with two caps for Scotland’s Under-16s.

Similarly, Gentles – who plays as a forward – has been called up by Wales Under-16s this season.

Pollard only signed for Rangers’ youth team in May when the club beat both Manchester United and Liverpool to his signature and the 15-year-old striker is being rewarded for his immediate impact with a pro deal.
