Sources: Rangers to sign nine more stars as Dujon Sterling medical scheduled

Rangers are set to complete the free transfer signing of Chelsea full-back Dujon Sterling in the coming days as they embark on a huge overhaul that will include 10 new signings, sources have told Football Insider.

The 23-year-old has had a tour of the Gers’ training centre and has spoken with Michael Beale about the project at the Glasgow club.

It is believed that medical tests are booked and Sterling will leave Stamford Bridge to join up with his new teammates at Ibrox ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.

The former England Under-20 international has been at Chelsea for 16 years – joining the club’s youth system when he was just seven years old.

He moved through the youth ranks at the London club before making his senior debut for the Blues in the League Cup against Nottingham Forest in 2017.

The right wing-back has since been on a series of loans at Coventry City, Blackpool and Stoke City – and has been a success on all three occasions.

His contract at Stamford Bridge will expire next month.

Sterling was a fan favourite at Stoke this season and is extremely highly rated within the walls of Chelsea despite the lack of opportunities to make an impact in the first team.

He made 26 league appearances for the Potters this season and has racked up almost 100 EFL games during his spells out on loan.

Rangers

Rangers manager Beale refused to comment on the imminent arrival during Friday’s pre-Celtic press conference but the Englishman will join up with the club next season.

Rangers have already all but secured the signature of Norwich star Kieran Dowell, who has already undergone a medical, and will add a further nine players including Sterling this summer.
