Sources: Rangers transfer to be announced after McPake completes medical
Rangers attacker Josh McPake is signing for Tranmere Rovers on Wednesday, Football Insider can reveal.
This site exclusively revealed on Tuesday (21 December) that Tranmere were set to win the race to sign McPake, 20, ahead of rival lower-league clubs and updated on Monday (3 January) that he was set for a medical on Tuesday.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that the paperwork on the McPake deal is being finalised and an announcement is scheduled for late Wednesday afternoon.
That will seal what will be the fifth loan move in two years for the Ibrox academy product.
He was recalled early from a loan spell at Morecambe to pave the way for a move to League Two outfit Rovers.
Rangers have given the green light for the youngster – who is contracted to his parent club until 2024 – to head down south and undergo a medical at Tranmere.
He becomes the second Ibrox player to agree a move to an English club this week.
