Sources: Robinson is frontrunner to be new Fleetwood Town manager after Celtic legend Scott Brown sacked
Former Oxford and MK Dons boss Karl Robinson is the frontrunner for the vacant manager’s job at Fleetwood Town, sources have told Football Insider.
Fleetwood are searching for a new manager following the sacking of Scott Brown over the weekend after picking up just one point from their first six League One games.
Robinson, 42, has plenty of experience in League One having guided MK Dons out of the division and managed Oxford United in the third tier between 2018 and 2023.

Brown took charge of Fleetwood in May 2022, shortly after leaving Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen where he was deployed in a player-coach role.
The former Celtic legend took charge of 52 League One matches winning 14, drawing 17 and losing 21.
Brown also oversaw Fleetwood’s historic FA Cup run which saw the third division side go all the way to the fifth round for the first time ever.
A 90th minute goal from Burnley ended the clubs’ hopes of progressing any further in the competition.
Robinson’s managerial career extends much further than the former Scotland international’s and was most recently assistant manager to Sam Allardyce for the brief spell he was in charge towards the end of the 2022-23 campaign.

During his career, Robinson has taken charge of 525 League One matches and has won 222, drawn 130 and lost 173.
Of the 49 Championship games the Englishman has taken charge of, he was won nine, drawn 12 and lost 25.
