Sources: Sam Byram returns to Leeds United on trial
Leeds United have taken their former star Sam Byram on trial, sources have told Football Insider.
They see the 29-year-old full-back as a left-back option as they don’t have funds at this point to buy one/
He will spend time with the Leeds squad ahead of a potential transfer.
Byram quit Daniel Farke’s old club Norwich City at the end of June following the expiry of his contract.
Football Insider exclusively revealed last week (8 July) that Leeds United are confident of agreeing at least six new signings once they have trimmed their wage bill.
It is believed that the club will sign at least six stars, and potentially more, with a new goalkeeper, centre-back, left-back, right-back, winger and striker among their top targets.
Leeds have been forced to conduct their transfer business so far under the cloud of an ongoing takeover.
The Whites are letting go of many of their high earners as they prepare for life in the Championship next season.
Robin Koch has joined Eintracht Frankfurt on a season-long loan, while Diego Llorente and Rasmus Kristensen are both set to join Roma on loan deals.

Byram began his career with Leeds United and played 143 times over four seasons at the Elland Road club before moving to east London in January 2016.
The full-back would then go on to make 27 appearences for West Ham during a three-year spell with the Premier League club, before moving to Norwich in 2019.
