Sources: Significant Wolves manager update as new talks held
Wolves are looking to move away from Jorge Mendes clients as they continue their search for a new manager, sources have told Football Insider.
The Midlands club have announced Steve Davis will remain in interim charge until the mid-November cut-off for the World Cup.
But Wolves are continuing to hold talks with potential manager candidates with the intention of making a permanent appointment in time for the new year.

It is believed the club are unlikely to appoint a Portuguese manager with close links to super agent and club consultant Mendes.
The previous two managers Bruno Lage and Nuno Espirito Santo were both Portuguese and clients of Mendes’ Gestifute agency.
Wolves are under growing pressure to bring in a new manager as they prepare for a Premier League relegation battle.
This comes after deals with Julen Lopetegui and Michael Beale collapsed at the eleventh hour following a change of heart from both men.
In an interview about his QPR future on 22 October, Beale admitted it was “a real privilege” to speak to Wolves but claimed “it wasn’t the right moment” to leave the club.
Beale’s side sits third in the Championship after 17 games.
Wolves, meanwhile, continue to struggle in the Premier League, sitting 19th after 13 games.
On Saturday (29 October), they earned a creditable 1-1 draw away at Brentford but suffered another blow to their striking options as Diego Costa received a red card for violent conduct in the game’s final moments.

Wolves have now only won two league games this season.
They are next in action against Brighton on Saturday (6 November).
In other news, Everton have been told to complete the ‘cheap’ signing of Wolves star Daniel Podence after a source’s reveal.
