Sources: Southampton star Mateusz Lis in advanced talks to join Troyes
Southampton goalkeeper Mateusz Lis is in advanced talks to join Ligue 1 club Troyes, sources have told Football Insider.
The 25-year-old only joined the Saints earlier this summer on a free transfer from Turkish club Altay SK.
Southampton are happy to loan out Lis as they are well-stocked in the goalkeeping department with Gavin Bazunu, Wilfredo Caballero and Alex McCarthy all ahead of the Polish keeper in the pecking order.

Lis signed a five-year contract at St. Mary’s but has not made a matchday squad this season.
He did feature for the club’s B team in their 4-1 win over West Brom earlier this month (12 August) but has not been in the squad for their other three Premier League 2 games this term.
Fellow summer signing Bazunu has established himself as the Saints’ new number one but is yet to keep a clean sheet.
McCarthy is Ralph Hasenhutl’s second-choice stopper and has three years left to run on his contract.
Caballero joined the club amid a goalkeeper injury crisis last December (2021) but only has a year left on his deal.
Lis may return from a loan spell this season to be the third-choice keeper.

Troyes only have two senior stoppers on their books with Gauthier Gallon the current number one.
Gallon has shipped 11 goals in four Ligue 1 goals this term – more than any other goalkeeper in the division.
In other news, a medical insider has claimed Romain Perraud may not recover until 2023 as new Southampton details emerge.
