Sources: St Johnstone agree to sign Millwall defender Muller

St Johnstone have agreed to sign Millwall defender Hayden Muller, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

The Scottish Premiership club have been competing with clubs south of the border for the 19-year-old.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that St Johnstone have now won the race for Muller after agreeing loan terms with Millwall.

The deal could be announced in the next 24 hours.

The right-back worked with St Johnstone boss Callum Davidson when he was the assistant manager at Millwall.

The Scot worked under current boss Gary Rowett for almost a year before taking over at St Johnstone in June 2020.

Rowett handed Muller his first-team debut on the final day of the 2019-20 Championship season.

He made three further appearances last term, including two in the league, and was rewarded with a new contract earlier this month.

Muller is now set to continue his development in the Scottish Premiership with St Johnstone.

Davidson has done an excellent job with the Saints and led them to a historic cup double last term.

The Daily Record reported today (29 June) that Rotherham United have submitted a £200,000 bid for cup hero Shaun Rooney.

It is claimed that is short of the Saints’ valuation of the 24-year-old who has one year left on his current contract.

The versatile right-sided player scored the winning goals in both the Scottish Cup and Scottish League Cup finals at Hampden Park.

In other news, a defender is set for a Millwall medical this week as a deal is finalised.
