Sources: Sunderland winger Diamond agrees to re-sign for former club
Sunderland winger Jack Diamond is set to rejoin former club Harrogate Town, Football Insider understands.
The 21-year-old has been the subject of enquiries from multiple League One and League Two clubs over a potential loan move.
A Sunderland source has told Football Insider that Diamond has opted to make the move back to League Two outfit Harrogate and the terms of a deal are agreed.
The Englishman had a successful spell at the Yorkshire club two seasons ago.
He scored four goals in 29 league appearances that year to help Harrogate win promotion to the Football League for the first ever time.
Diamond put pen to paper on a new three-year deal at the Stadium of Light in March of this year.
Black Cats manager Lee Johnson has high hopes for the youngster but believes a loan move would be beneficial for his development.
A product of Sunderland’s academy, Diamond has featured three times for the first team this season.
Johnson has handed the winger starts in EFL Cup wins over Port Vale and Blackpool.
In total, he has contributed two goals and six assists in 40 appearances for the Wearside club.
But, first team opportunities will be hard to come by this season for Diamond following a summer recruitment drive at the Stadium of Light.

The winger has fallen down the pecking order following the signing of ex-Huddersfield Town attacking midfielder Alex Pritchard.
The Black Cats have enjoyed an impressive start to the 2021-22 campaign and currently sit top of League One after five games.
