Sources: Swansea City respond to seven-figure Burnley bid for Roberts
Swansea City have rejected an opening bid from Burnley for defender Connor Roberts, Football Insider has learned.
The Premier League outfit are keen on signing the Wales international before Tuesday’s transfer deadline as Clarets boss Sean Dyche looks to strengthen his options.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Swansea have rebuffed Burnley’s offer of around £1.5million for Roberts.

However, the two clubs are still in talks and a deal could be done for the 25-year-old by tomorrow’s cut-off.
Roberts is in the final year of his contract at Swansea.
The Championship club risk allowing him to run down his deal and leave on a free transfer next summer.
Swansea are unable to offer Roberts a new deal due to cutbacks at the Liberty Stadium.
Burnley are expected to come back with an improved offer for the defender before the transfer window closes.
Roberts is currently recovering from groin surgery after picking up an injury during his time away with Wales at Euro 2020.
He is making good progress in his recovery and is expected to return to action next month after missing the start of the 2021-22 campaign.
Dyche is a big fan of Roberts and sees him as a valuable addition to his plans at Turf Moor after a relatively quiet transfer window for the Premier League club.
Burnley have recently signed Maxwel Cornet from Lyon in a £15m deal to bolster their left-sided options.
Now Dyche wants to bring in Roberts to add cover for his right-side of defence.

Roberts, who has won 30 caps for Wales, can play at right-back, wingback and occasionally on the right of midfield, and his versatility would provide Burnley with a welcome boost.
Roberts has come through the ranks at Swansea and has made 152 appearances for the Welsh side.
In other news, Brighton have beaten another Premier League side to the signing of this 20-year-old ace.
