Sources: Tottenham attacker arrives at new club after being told to quit
Tottenham have told forward Thomas Bloxham he’s free to find a new club and he’s already headed out on trial, sources have told Football Insider.
The left-sided attacker, 17, is midway through the second season of a two-year scholarship deal with the London giants.
Tottenham have informed Bloxham he will not be getting a professional contract when his scholarship deal ends next summer.
It is believed his departure could be accelerated, as he looks to secure a deal with a new club.
Bloxham has been on trial at another club in recent weeks, spending extensive time at their training ground as coaches run the rule over him.
The right-footer has made eight appearances for Spurs’ age-group sides this term, including two starts in the Under-18 Premier League.
He has turned out a total of 29 times for Tottenham’s Under-18 side, scoring six goals.
The Ireland Under-18 international, born in Welwyn Garden City, has been at Spurs since the Under-8 level.
Only Harry Kane, Japhet Tanganga, Oliver Skipp, and Brandon Austin are graduates from the Tottenham youth system in Antonio Conte’s current squad.
Other successful exports from Hotspur Way include Celtic star Cameron Carter-Vickers and Southampton defender Kyle Walker-Peters.
According to Transfermarkt, Antonio Conte has fielded the Premier League’s third-oldest squad on average this season (27.2 years old).
Tottenham sit fourth in the top flight after signing off for the mid-season break with a 4-3 victory over Leeds United.
Spurs return to action against Brentford on 26 December.
