Sources: Tottenham could make Randal Kolo Muani U-turn, replacement lined up
Tottenham have made a U-turn over the future of Randal Kolo Muani and may be willing to cut short his loan spell before the transfer window ends.
The 27-year-old is currently on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, but has interest from Juventus and would be interested in returning to Turin this January.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, Spurs’ interest in other attacking options could facilitate Kolo Muani‘s departure.
The possibility of a late move for Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta could change things after the club were alerted to his availability.
However, there are a lot of moving parts on both sides of the deal which could make it complicated to get it over the line before the 2 February deadline.

Tottenham could make Randal Kolo Muani U-turn
Tottenham fans have criticised Kolo Muani this season, with the suggestion that he doesn’t want to be at Spurs and would prefer to make a return to Juventus.
The Italian giants are keen to take over his loan deal and believe he ticks plenty of boxes, after themselves missing out on a deal for Mateta.
Spurs had previously been extremely reluctant to let Kolo Muani leave the club amid a lack of forward options, but if they can line up his replacement, their stance may change.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “We know there are long-term admirers of Mateta. It would probably depend on some outgoings at Tottenham.
“Kolo Muani, if he was to cut his loan short and potentially move back to Juventus then that could make room in the squad for Tottenham to firm up their interest in Mateta.
“There are a lot of permutations to this one, obviously Kolo Muani scored in the win against Eintracht Frankfurt as Spurs booked their place in the last 16.
“We know Juventus are in the market for a new striker they’ve missed out on Mateta.
“Obviously, Kolo Muani had a very successful loan spell there before so he would tick a lot of boxes for them if they are to bring a new striker in.

“Tottenham have been quite adamant that they haven’t wanted anybody to leave but now maybe with Mateta being an option for them they might be more open to it.
“He’s not been a regular goalscorer for Spurs and not been a regular starter either, so it could suit all parties if he was to go back to Juventus.
“That might then allow Tottenham to make a move for Mateta, but there are are so many permutations that we just have to wait for it to play out.”
Omar Marmoush update emerges at Man City
Mateta is not the only forward Spurs have been linked with at this late stage of the window, amid ongoing speculation about Omar Marmoush‘s future at Man City.
Spurs are believed to be long-term admirers of the Egypt international after having also considered a move for him during the summer transfer window.
However, Football Insider revealed on 27 January that Man City will not sell Marmoush in the mid-season window as he remains part of their plans.

Pep Guardiola is keen to keep his entire squad intact as they look to compete for trophies on all fronts, while the forward is hopeful that he play an increased role.
Aston Villa and Spurs have both been linked with a move for the 26-year-old since the start of the winter window, but a deal is now set to be out of reach for any interested parties.
