Sources: Tottenham furious as Nile John loan to Charlton Athletic turns sour
Tottenham are furious at Charlton Athletic for their handling of Nile John during his loan spell, Football Insider understands.
The central midfielder, 19, has not had a single minute of first-team action since joining the League One outfit in January.
A Tottenham source has told Football Insider that the club are extremely dissatisfied with the south London club for failing to deliver on their promises.
The Premier League giants had been assured that John would be involved more often.
However, he has not featured in any of their 12 league matches since his arrival.
He has also failed to make the matchday squad altogether on eight occasions.
The England under-19 international had been in fine form for Tottenham’s under-23 side in Premier League 2 prior to his loan exit.
John, who plays primarily in attacking midfield, had registered seven goals and three assists in 14 outings in the competition this term.
The White City-born starlet has already made his professional debut for Spurs, coming on as a substitute against Wolfsburg in the Europa League in February 2021.
John also earned his first Tottenham start in European competition.
Nuno Espirito Santo selected him in the lineup to face Pacos de Ferreira in Europa Conference League qualifying last August (2021).

The midfielder’s lack of action for the Addicks comes despite the South London club sitting 14th in League One.
Jonnie Jackson’s side, who play a 3-5-2 formation, effectively have nothing to play for as the season draws to a close.
