Sources: Tottenham in talks over marquee signing, big update on ‘complex’ Conor Gallagher deal
Tottenham are continuing to work on a marquee deal for Chelsea midfield star Conor Gallagher, sources have told Football Insider.
It is believed Spurs have not given up hope of securing an agreement with their London rivals before the January transfer window ends.
Talks are continuing over a potential transfer by the 1 February deadline.

However, a well-placed source has told Football Insider that “it’s a complex deal” and Tottenham face a lot of work ahead to get it over the line.
The Lilywhites first registered their interest in Gallagher last summer (2023), with West Ham also emerging as a possible transfer destination.
He has since become a favourite of new Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino and has worn the captain’s armband often in the absence of appointed skipper Reece James.
Nevertheless, the Blues could allow Gallagher to depart with any sale to count as pure profit for Financial Fair Play purposes as he came through the club’s academy.
Mason Mount similarly left Stamford Bridge last summer, joining Man United for a reported fee of £55million plus add-ons.
Gallagher’s contract situation could also become a factor – with his current deal set to expire in June 2025.
Football Insider revealed last month (24 December) that the midfielder is eager to stay at the club and wants to pen fresh terms at Stamford Bridge.

He has made 26 appearances across all competitions so far this term, notching four assists.
No Chelsea player has joined Tottenham since the deal to bring backup goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini to White Hart Lane in 2009.
In other news, Tottenham will let three more senior stars leave this month.
