Sources: Tottenham pay off Hugo Lloris after termination talks
Tottenham agreed to pay Hugo Lloris a seven-figure sum to push through his move to Los Angeles FC, sources have told Football Insider.
The Frenchman’s free transfer to the MLS side was confirmed on Saturday (30 December) following the termination of his Spurs contract.
It is believed that Tottenham will pay the sum to compensate him for the remainder of this deal, which saw him earn in excess of £100,000-a-week, and the major pay cut he has taken to move to the States.

The World Cup winner held talks with Spurs to terminate his contract after he was frozen out of the first team in April.
Lloris had six months left on his deal with the Lilywhites after spending 11 seasons as their starting shot-stopper.
He will take to the field at half-time of their Premier League clash at home against Bournemouth on Sunday (31 December) to bid farewell to the fans.
Since his move to north London from Lyon in the summer of 2012, he has made 444 appearances in all competitions and has been a mainstay in goal for 11 seasons.
He kept 127 clean sheets across 361 Premier League appearances for Spurs and helped guide them to the Champions League final in 2019.
The former captain’s drop in form saw him fall out of favour and has since been replaced by summer signing Guglielmo Vicario in between the sticks.
