Sources: Tottenham ready to sell Emerson Royal after training ground bust-up
Tottenham are prepared to sell Emerson Royal this month after a training ground bust-up, sources have told Football Insider.
The Brazilian, 23, was omitted from the Spurs XI for their Boxing Day draw against Brentford with Matt Doherty given the nod for the right wing-back role.
It is believed that Emerson has fallen out of favour with Spurs after being involved in a training ground disagreement with a member of the first-team coaching staff.

Tottenham’s public stance is that there has been no fall-out.
Manager Antonio Conte named Emerson on the bench at Brentford even though he has started 15 Premier League and Champions League matches this season.
He had also been in possession of the position before the World Cup.
Now, the 2021 signing from Barcelona could potentially head out of Tottenham for good in the January window.
Spurs will listen to offers for him and he is now more likely to leave than Doherty, who is expected to stay in light of recent events.
The Londoners had targeted a new right wing-back even before the training ground row involving Emerson and the coach.
Doherty scored in all of Spurs’ mid-season friendlies as the club geared up for the return of the Premier League last week.
Emerson’s attacking output has been questioned by fans after only registering one assist in all competitions this season while Ivan Perisic has provided four assists from left-back.

Emerson started 31 games and was used from the bench on 10 occasions during his debut season at Tottenham as the club secured Champions League qualification.
The wing-back’s attacking output was also questioned last term as he finished the campaign with just one assist.
