Sources: Tottenham set sights on Santiago Gimenez amid £60m reveal
Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez is likely to cost in excess of £60million as Fulham, Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal plot a move for his services, sources have told Football Insider.
Football Insider revealed on Friday (15 December) that Fulham scouts watched Gimenez, 22, in action against Celtic in the Champions League earlier this week.
The Cottagers are keen to add a new striker to their ranks in the January window – but it is believed that the Argentina-born star’s price tag and the quality of other clubs interested means they are unlikely to land him mid-season.
Feyenoord are set to ask for a fee of more than £60million to part with the in-form attacker – and a well-placed source has told Football Insider that a move is more likely in the summer than in the new year.
It is believed the Dutch giants have no intention of selling mid-season as they target success in the Eredivisie and in Europe.
Fulham took the opportunity to watch Gimenez at close quarters earlier this week but it is believed elite Premier League sides like Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal are set to join the race for his services at the end of this season.
The Mexico international has notched 20 goals and four assists in 20 appearances across all competitions so far in the 2023-24 campaign.
He also hit 28 goals last term to help Feyenoord win the Eredivisie title before signing a fresh contract in August, keeping him at De Kuip until June 2027.
The six-foot-tall attacker has hit four goals in 24 total caps for Mexico and played for his country at the Gold Cup earlier this year.

Tottenham are yet to replace departed talisman Harry Kane, while Fulham are on the hunt for striking reinforcements despite their recent upturn in goalscoring form.
Arsenal are also keen to reinvent their forward options – while Chelsea are unsatisfied with their strikeforce despite signing Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson in the most recent summer window.
In other news, Tottenham plan to agree “huge” forward deal.
