Sources: Tottenham star Malachi Fagan-Walcott in advanced talks to join Swindon Town
Swindon Town are in advanced talks to sign Tottenham defender Malachi Fagan-Walcott, sources have told Football Insider.
Swindon are hoping to sign the centre-back, 20, in a permanent deal before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.
The England youth international has been a mainstay of Tottenham’s Under-23s side this season, but the North London club are ready to let him leave.
Fagan-Walcott made his first-team debut in March 2020 during a Champions League defeat to RB Leipzig.
He has made 13 appearances for the Tottenham under-21 side this season with 12 of those being starts.
Those appearances have yielded two goals and two clean sheets.
Fagan-Walcott signed his first professional contract in November 2019 at the age of 17.
The defender has had one spell away from Spurs, an ill-fated temporary switch to Dundee United in January 2021.
He picked up a season-ending injury after making just two appearances for the Scottish club.
The defender has not made it into a senior matchday squad this season.
Swindon signed Marcel Lavinier, Fagan-Walcott’s former teammate, from Tottenham in the summer.
He has made 12 league appearances for Swindon this season though only eight of those have been starts.

Antonio Conte handed a Premier League debut to Tottenham youth player Alfie Devine during the club’s 4-0 win over Crystal Palace (4 January), highlighting the pathway from the youth ranks to the first team.
Spurs are next in action against Manchester City on Sunday (5 February).
