Sources: Tottenham star Yves Bissouma could miss rest of the season in new blow
Yves Bissouma faces a battle to play for Tottenham again this season as he prepares to undergo surgery on Friday, sources have told Football Insider.
Spurs have announced that the midfielder, 26, has suffered a stress fracture in his left ankle and will require an operation.
Tottenham say the timeframe of Bissouma’s recovery will not be better understood until after the surgery.

But it is believed that the former Brighton star could struggle to play again this term.
He is facing around six to eight weeks of rehabilitation and gentle exercise, and it could then be another month before he is able to cope with the intensity of top-level football.
The potential three-month absence could mean the season is over for the signing from the Seagulls last summer.
Bissouma is currently enjoying his first campaign in North London after completing a £25million move in June.
The Mali international has been a regular for Antonio Conte in 2022/23, failing to appear in only two Premier League games this season.
But of his 20 top-flight appearances this season, Bissouma has only played the full 90 minutes three times, with Conte preferring to bring him on from the bench.

Bissouma joined the Premier League in 2018 when he signed for Brighton from Lille, and his injury record during his time in England is impressive.
The midfielder has missed just 12 games through injury in five years, with a hip and shoulder injury limiting him in the 2018/19 season and a knee injury causing him to miss four matches in 2021/22.
