Sources: Tottenham strike ‘early agreement’ as Chelsea blown away in Antonio Nusa race
Tottenham have blown London rivals Chelsea and Fulham away with their pursuit of Club Brugge wonderkid Antonio Nusa, sources have told Football Insider.
Football Insider revealed on Saturday (20 January) that Spurs are working hard to seal a £25million January move for the 18-year-old.
Ange Postecoglou’s side are now in pole position to complete a deal for Nusa before the 1 February deadline.
Chelsea and Fulham had been keen on the teenager but it is Tottenham who have taken the initiative by offering to loan the youngster back to Brugge for the remainder of the 2023-24 campaign.
That factor has convinced the player – who had been keen to remain in Belgium until the summer window.
A well-placed source has told Football Insider that Spurs have “stolen a march” on their London rivals by striking an early deal for Nusa to arrive at the club in the summer.
The Norway international looks set to become just the latest young talent to join the Lilywhites – who are prioritising deals for players under the age of 24.
Destiny Udogie was loaned back to Udinese in similar fashion last season after agreeing to join Spurs in 2022 – and has thrived in the Premier League so far this season.
Nusa, who primarily plays on the left wing, has notched three goals and three assists in 26 games so far in the 2023-24 campaign.

The teen has already turned out four times at senior level for Norway, scoring one and assisting four.
He has racked up 62 games for Brugge since joining from Stabaek in 2021 and is set to stay in Belgium to help the club to success in the league and in Europe.
