Sources: Tottenham tell rising star to find a new club

Tottenham have told defender Brandon Bryan-Waugh he’s free to find a new club, sources have told Football Insider.

The right-back, 18, is midway through the second season of a two-year scholarship deal with the London giants.

Tottenham have informed Bryan-Waugh he will not be getting a professional contract when his scholarship deal ends next summer.

It is believed he could now be gone in a matter of weeks, as he looks to secure a deal with a new club.

Bryan-Waugh is a versatile defender who can either play at centre-half or right-back and has been with Spurs since the age of eight.

He has also received England call-ups at Under-15 and Under-16 levels but has barely featured for any of Spurs’ youth sides this season.

The defender has only started one of the club’s seven Under-18s Premier League games during 2022-23.

He has also made two appearances off the bench but only accumulated 37 minutes of action in those outings.

Last season Bryan-Waugh featured far more, playing 15 times in the Under-18s Premier League, starting on 10 occasions.

He also started three times in the FA Youth Cup as Spurs made it to the fifth round before being knocked out by Wolves.

Spurs’ Under-18s side sit seventh in their Under-18s Premier League division after only winning three of their seven games this season.

They are next in action against Crystal Palace’s Under-18s on Saturday (26 November).

In other news, one expert ‘wouldn’t be surprised’ if Tottenham sign Youssoufa Moukoko in January after a source’s reveal.
