Sources: Tottenham three-signing plan revealed

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou is planning to bolster the spine of his new side with three early-window signings, sources have told Football Insider.

The Australian was appointed the new Spurs boss earlier this month (6 June) following an impressive stint at Celtic.

He has already wrapped up his first signing as manager, with Dejan Kulusevski joining on a permanent basis following a successful 18-month loan with the Londoners.

Pedro Porro has also joined permanently after a pre-arranged obligation-to-buy was inserted into his loan deal.

And Spurs are now ready to take their summer spending to new heights as they look to return to the Premier League’s top four under Postecoglou in the 2023-24 campaign.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that a left-sided centre-back is likely to be the top priority for Tottenham in the off-season.

This news comes after Football Insider revealed on 7 June that the Lilywhites are not planning on converting defender Clement Lenglet’s loan into a permanent deal.

It is believed a new goalkeeper is also high on the agenda for Postecoglou and Spurs with Hugo Lloris already going public with his desire to leave the club this summer.

Football Insider revealed last week (16 June) that the Londoners have agreed personal terms with Brentford’s David Raya but have not yet made an acceptable bid.

Finally, a new all-action midfielder is being targetted by Tottenham as part of their first wave of summer business.

Spurs struggled after star man Rodrigo Bentancur suffered a serious knee injury in February – and it is believed he could be out of action until November.

Postecoglou currently has Yves Bissouma, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Pape Matar Sarr, Oliver Skipp and Harry Winks to call on in a central midfield berth.

Spurs’ first pre-season friendly is against West Ham on 18 July.
