Sources: Tottenham to let Hugo Lloris go as ‘jaw-dropping’ offer revealed

Hugo Lloris is set to join a new club this summer and bring an end to his glittering Tottenham career, sources have told Football Insider.

The World Cup winner has a “jaw-dropping” Saudi Arabian offer on the table, sources say, and is also of interest to elite European clubs.

Spurs will not stand in their club captain’s way of a move, with only a year remaining on his contract.

The Londoners have been assessing potential goalkeeper signings all season and have compiled a shortlist of candidates to replace the outgoing Lloris.

Football Insider revealed on Saturday (13 May) that the club are keeping close tabs on Southampton shot-stopper Gavin Bazunu.

Lloris is held in huge esteem at Spurs for his achievements at the club and on the international stage with France, and is seen as a genuine Premier League superstar along with Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min.

The 36-year-old has made 447 total appearances for the North London side throughout his 11-year spell at the club, keeping 151 clean sheets in the process.

He signed for the club in 2012 from Lyon in a £11.8million move and was named club captain by Mauricio Pochettino in 2015.

Lloris has remained a key part of the Spurs team in 2022/23 with 31 starts in all competitions, but he is yet to return to the starting lineup since his calamitous first-half display against Newcastle United in the 6-1 loss last month.
