Sources: Tottenham will accept £18m January offer for Giovani Lo Celso

Tottenham are willing to sell Giovani Lo Celso on the cheap in January, sources have told Football Insider.

Spurs are keen to get the midfielder, 26, off their payroll for good in the winter window as they look to raise cash following a busy summer of transfer activity.

It is believed an offer of around £18million could be accepted by the London giants for a player signed for double that sum.

Lo Celso was free to find a new club, either on loan or on a permanent deal, ahead of the 1 September deadline.

The Argentina international is surplus to requirements under Antonio Conte and agreed a second consecutive loan move to Villarreal.

The deal was processed two weeks before the window shut as Spurs were keen to let the big names on the fringes go.

The midfielder has made 11 appearances for Villarreal this season, starting the first seven league games of the campaign before picking up an injury.

During his first loan spell at the club, Lo Celso impressed as Unai Emery’s side progressed to the Champions League semi-finals.

He won the player of the match award as Villarreal beat Bayern Munich 1-0 in the quarter-finals.

Before moving to Spain, Lo Celso made 19 appearances for Tottenham in the first half of the 2021-22 season.

He scored one goal and assisted twice but failed to complete a 90-minute match in the Premier League under both Nuno Espirito Santo and Conte.
