Sources: Two Tottenham stars with long-term injuries close in on returns
Long-term Tottenham absentees Micky van de Ven and Ryan Sessegnon are in line to return from injury in January, sources have told Football Insider.
The duo are in the most advanced stage of recovery among the swathe of first-team stars in the treatment room at Spurs.
They could return to action before the end of January after the Dutchman’s injury in November and the Englishman’s setback way back in February.

Spurs continue to navigate their crippling injury crisis that derailed their excellent start in the Premier League in Ange Postecoglou’s debut season in England.
Among those injured are James Maddison, Rodrigo Bentancur, Manor Salomon and Ivan Perisic, who are all set to be sidelined until February and beyond
£34.5million summer signing van de Ven, 22, suffered a hamstring injury in the Lilywhite’s 4-1 defeat against Chelsea last month (6 November) – the same game where Maddison picked up his ankle problem.
The centre-back had emerged as one of Tottenham’s best players this season after his impressive defensive displays alongside Cristian Romero and had played every available minute in all competitions before his injury.
Sessegnon, 23, hasn’t played since last winter following a devastating hamstring injury and underwent surgery in July, with his last appearance coming in Spurs’ 1-0 win over Man City last season.

The attacker’s debut season for Spurs was hampered by injury and he has consistently been sidelined since his 2019 move from Fulham having missed 70 games.
Tottenham sit fifth in the Premier League after their 4-1 win over Newcastle United (10 December) and will next travel to the Midlands where they will face Nottingham Forest on Friday night (15 December).
