Sources: West Brom agree to sign Brighton star Steven Alzante

West Brom have agreed a deal with Brighton & Hove Albion for midfielder Steven Alzate, sources have told Football Insider.

Brighton have given the deal the green light as Alzate has not featured in the Premier League this season.

Brighton

He has two years left to run on his contract at the Amex and has been on the bench for their last four top-flight games this season.

Alzate began his career at Leyton Orient before joining the Seagulls in the summer of 2017 and has also enjoyed a loan spell at Swindon Town in the 2018-19 season.

After impressing at the County Ground with three goals and four assists in 24 appearances across all competitions, he broke into the Brighton first team.

The six-cap international has featured 51 times across all competitions for Graham Potter’s side, including 27 Premier League starts.

West Brom will be able to offer him regular first-team football again as they look to win promotion back to the Premier League.

Steve Bruce has already brought in five new players this summer as well as converting Jayson Molumby’s loan move from Brighton into a permanent deal.

Blackpool

They have bolstered their midfield ranks with the return of Okay Yokuslu and the signing of John Swift on a free transfer from Reading.
