Sources: West Brom work on late deal to sign Chelsea starlet Omari Hutchinson

West Brom are closing in on a deal to sign Chelsea youngster Omari Hutchinson on loan before the transfer deadline, sources have told Football Insider.

The Premier League giants have given the 19-year-old attacking midfielder the green light to leave temporarily in pursuit of regular game time after breaking into Graham Potter’s senior side this season.

The Blues feel the former Arsenal starlet would benefit from more first-team action and they have sanctioned a move for him to join the Baggies for the rest of the season.

Chelsea

Carlos Corberan’s men have been in the market for attacking reinforcements this month and are close to finalising a deal for Hutchinson ahead of the 11pm transfer deadline.

The Jamaica-born playmaker, who moved to Stamford Bridge from Arsenal in the summer of 2022, has been in and around Chelsea’s first team in recent weeks.

He made his senior debut in the Premier League clash with Manchester City at the start of January, and featured again days later in the FA Cup defeat to the same opposition.

However, Hutchinson has not been included in any of Chelsea’s last three Premier League matchday squads.

Potter has now given him permission to head out on loan, with the Blues bolstering their own squad.

The versatile attacking midfielder, who has also featured as a right-sided forward, looks set to boost West Brom’s play-off hopes.

The Baggies currently sit 10th in the Championship table, just one point off sixth-placed Norwich City.

In other news, West Brom are among four EFL sides in race to sign another Premier League starlet.
