Sources: West Ham and Fulham plot moves for ex-Everton star Dijbril Sidibe

West Ham and Fulham are plotting moves for former Everton loanee Djibril Sidibe, sources have told Football Insider.

The right-back, 29, is available on a free transfer after rejecting a new deal at Monaco in a bid to secure a move back to England and the Premier League.

West Ham and Fulham are keen on Sidibe as he is a free agent and has the versatility to play right-back as well as left-back.

Sidibe, who was a member of the France squad that won the 2018 World Cup, made 28 appearances during his loan spell at Everton in the 2019/20 campaign.

Everton decided not to take up the option to convert his loan into a permanent move and he returned to Monaco.

He ended his six-year spell with the Ligue 1 club with 174 appearances across all competitions and was a key part of the side that won the title and reached the Champions League semi-finals in 2016/17.

Fulham are in the market for a new right-back after Neco Williams signed for Nottingham Forest on a permanent deal on Monday (11 July).

Williams spent the second half of the 2021-22 campaign on loan from Liverpool at Craven Cottage and was a key part of Marco Silva’s side that won the Championship title.

West Ham

West Ham have Ben Johnson and Vladimir Coufal who are capable of playing at right-back while Aaron Cresswell and Arthur Masuaku are David Moyes’ options on the left.

The Hammers will play in the Europa Conference League in 2022/23 after finishing seventh in the Premier League in 2021/22.

In other news, West Ham have just signed Declan Rice’s replacement as terms are agreed.
