Sources: West Ham close in on Jesse Lingard deal
West Ham are still considering offering attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard a short-term deal, sources have told Football Insider.
The 30-year-old is still a free agent following his release by Nottingham Forest in June.
He has impressed while training with the West Ham squad during the summer but is yet to receive a formal offer from the London outfit.

The Irons moved to bring the ex-Man United star back to the club last season but saw their approach rejected by the England international – who chose to join Nottingham Forest.
His move to the City Ground proved underwhelming, as he managed just two goals and two assists in 20 appearances across all competitions.
Lingard started just 14 times as Steve Cooper’s side survived relegation in their first season back in the Premier League.
The former England international previously had a loan spell at West Ham in the second half of the 2020-21 season, notching nine goals and five assists in 16 appearances.
He has racked up 182 games in the Premier League, notching 29 goals and 17 assists.
The 30-year-old also won the FA Cup, Europa League and League Cup during his time with boyhood club Man United.
West Ham sit fourth in the Premier League after winning three of their opening four games in the 2023-24 campaign.

The Irons added an attacking midfielder to their ranks during the summer window, signing Ajax star Mohammed Kudus for a reported £38million.
David Moyes’ side face league leaders Man City after the international break (16 September).
In other news, West Ham could now sign another free agent.
