Sources: West Ham coach agrees Wolves job
West Ham coach Mark Robson has agreed to join the staff of incoming Wolves manager Gary O’Neil, sources have told Football Insider.
The London club’s Under-23s lead coach is heading to Molineux and will be joined by Bournemouth’s former assistant manager Tim Jenkins.
O’Neil wants Robson, 54, and Jenkins, 43, in the dugout with him as he prepares for his second Premier League manager’s job.
Wolves announced the departure of Julen Lopetegui on Tuesday (8 August), with the Spaniard quitting on the eve of the new season after the club failed to provide him with any funds for new signings.
Former Liverpool man Jenkins was unveiled as O’Neil’s first appointment to his backroom staff at Bournemouth and the pair will be reunited at Wolves.
Robson, who has been an assistant manager at clubs like Aston Villa, Charlton and Norwich, will leave his role at West Ham to link up with the ex-midfielder at Molineux.
O’Neil’s sacking at Bournemouth came as a surprise earlier this summer – with the 40-year-old relieved of his duties on the south coast despite comfortably leading the Cherries to safety.
He amassed 36 points in 34 Premier League games after Scott Parker was sacked earlier in the season following a disastrous start.
Nevertheless, the Bournemouth hierarchy have chosen to replace O’Neil with Spanish boss Andoni Iraola.
Wolves have added just one player to last season’s squad in the summer window – the free transfer signing of right-back Matt Doherty.

However, Football Insider revealed on Wednesday (9 August) that Wolves are expected to complete the signing of West Ham left-back Aaron Cresswell in the final weeks of the summer window.
The Midlands club start the new season against Man United next Monday (14 August).
