Sources: West Ham regularly scouting Habib Diallo as Brighton swoop

West Ham are among the Premier League sides regularly scouting Strasbourg striker Habib Diallo ahead of a potential swoop in the summer window, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed Irons scouts were in attendance as the 27-year-old lined up against Nice on Saturday (13 May).

Representatives from Brighton, Crystal Palace, Brentford and Fulham also watched on as Diallo netted twice to ensure a 2-0 win for Strasbourg.

Sources have told Football Insider that Premier League onlookers were left “impressed” with the Senegal international’s showing.

Diallo has drawn interest from top English clubs after his fine form in the 2022-23 campaign.

He has scored 20 goals in 35 appearances across all competitions this term – and sits fourth in the Ligue 1 scoring charts with three games to play.

The former Metz star, who joined Strasbourg in 2020, is out of contract in June 2025.

16-cap star Diallo helped Senegal lift the African Cup of Nations in February 2022, making three appearances at the tournament.

West Ham are searching for a new striker in the summer window despite adding Gianluca Scamacca and Danny Ings in the 2022-23 campaign.

Scamacca, who cost a reported £35.5million last summer, has managed just eight goals across all competitions and last featured for the Irons in March.

Ings, who joined for a reported fee of around £15million from Aston Villa in January, has struggled for starts in David Moyes’ side – scoring three goals in 18 outings.

There are question marks over the long-term future of Michail Antonio ahead of the summer window after interest in the Jamaica international in the January window.

In other news, West Ham could now trump Newcastle as £37m payout on the cards.
