Sources: West Ham senior stars tell board their Moyes sack verdict
David Moyes still has the backing of his West Ham squad as the pressure on his position grows, sources have told Football Insider.
Those with knowledge of the 59-year-old’s situation have revealed that Irons’ decision-makers are reluctant to make a managerial change so late in the season.
Sources told Football Insider on Monday (6 March) that the West Ham board are keeping faith with Moyes despite Saturday’s (4 March) 4-0 loss away at Brighton.
There is currently no plan or strategy in place to replace the former Man United and Everton boss – or talks taking place with other managers.
However, it is believed that a change could be made in the summer – regardless of whether West Ham stay up or are relegated to the Championship.
Moyes started his second spell at the club in 2019 – just 18 months after being replaced by former Man City boss Manuel Pellegrini.
He kept the club afloat in the Premier League – before leading them to back-to-back European qualification in the 2020-21 and 2021-22 campaigns.
West Ham now sit 16th in the table – just one point outside the relegation zone and two points above bottom club Bournemouth.
The Irons have won just two of 11 Premier League games since the mid-season World Cup break – though valuable points against Leeds, Newcastle and Chelsea have helped their cause.
That lack of form is especially disappointing to supporters considering come the reported transfer investment of almost £172million across both windows this term.

West Ham face a two-legged Europa Conference League last-16 clash with Cypriot side AEK Larnaca this month.
The Irons’ next Premier League clash is against Aston Villa on Sunday (12 March).
