Sources: West Ham set sights on signing 36-goal sensation dubbed ‘next Michail Antonio’

West Ham are making checks on Tooting & Mitcham United striker sensation Kesna Clark, Football Insider can reveal.

The 17-year-old has already been dubbed the “next Michail Antonio” by industry sources.

Clark has banged in a remarkable 36 goals in 14 matches for the London outfit’s Under-18s this season.

Hammers star Antonio began his career at non-League club Tooting & Mitcham before signing with Reading of the Championship in 2008.

Antonio made his Tooting & Mitcham debut as a 17-year-old and made a handful of appearances before signing for the Royals.

He was then loaned back to the Terrors and finished with 10 goals in 12 games across all competitions.

The 31-year-old arrived at West Ham via spells in the Championship with Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forrest.

The English-born ace initially played on the wing for the Hammers but has been a revelation as a striker under David Moyes.

He now has 46 top-flight goals under his belt and is one behind the club’s record Premier League goalscorer Paulo Di Canio.

Clark made his first-team bow for Tooting & Mitcham back in September and finished the season with a handful of appearances from the bench.

He scored his first senior goal with a late winner in their 2-1 win over AFC Dunstable in the first qualifying round of the FA Trophy.

Tooting & Mitcham compete in the Isthmian League South Central Division, the eighth tier of English football.

In other news, West Ham are readying an approach to sign a “world-class” 28-year-old with 34 Premier League starts this season.
