Sources: West Ham will ‘seriously consider’ Niclas Fullkrug offer

West Ham United will seriously consider offloading striker Niclas Fullkrug in the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

Fullkrug is currently out with a thigh problem and hasn’t featured for the east London side since the 2-0 defeat to Arsenal at the start of October.

The 32-year-old started the first two games after Nuno Espirito Santo replaced Graham Potter, but Callum Wilson has taken full advantage of the German’s recent absence to nail down a spot in the side.

Now, sources say that West Ham would be open to offers for Fullkrug when the window reopens, in order to free up funds for their own endeavours in the transfer market.

Niclas Fullkrug has struggled for West Ham

West Ham signed Fullkrug from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2024 for a reported fee of £27.5million.

The German international came in as the Hammers’ exciting new striker, but managed just three Premier League goals last season, hampered by injury and poor form.

Fullkrug has continued to struggle this term, failing to find the back of the net in each of his six top-flight appearances so far.

Now, the misfiring striker is being linked with clubs across Europe, with a number of Bundesliga sides reportedly willing to take a chance on him.

West Ham sensation wanted by multiple clubs

Meanwhile, West Ham United midfielder Mohamadou Kante is wanted by multiple clubs in the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

A number of Championship sides have enquired about Kante’s potential availability in the New Year, either on loan or on a permanent basis.

The 20-year-old has been training with West Ham’s first team in recent weeks and is expected to get some minutes in Espirito Santo’s side in the near future if he continues his rapid progress.

It is believed that scouts from Championship teams have been making regular checks on the rising star.
