Sources: Wolves forced to agree January loan deal as cash crisis bites
Wolves will sign a striker this month – but only have the financial capability to complete a loan deal, sources have told Football Insider.
A well-placed source has told Football Insider that the Molineux club’s “hands are tied” in the market due to Financial Fair Play restrictions – meaning they can only pursue a temporary signing.
Sasa Kalajdzic has left Wolves to join Eintracht Frankfurt on a loan deal running for the rest of the season.

The Austria international wasn’t suited to Gary O’Neil’s style of play and has been allowed to leave the club despite a replacement not yet being in place.
A new striker signing was always on the radar for O’Neil ahead of the winter window as he wants to reduce the club’s reliance on top scorer Hwang Hee-chan.
One target is West Ham forward Danny Ings, who is out of favour at the London Stadium under Irons boss David Moyes.
But Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (9 January) the London side are keen on signing a striker of their own and will not sanction an exit for Ings until a replacement is secured.
West Ham want a loan fee for the ex-Southampton striker and will also demand Wolves cover his wages for the duration of any potential agreement.
Ings has started just four games across all competitions in the 2023-24 campaign and is yet to score or assist this term.

Hwang is Wolves’ top scorer this term with 11 goals and three assists across 21 appearances in all competitions so far this season.
O’Neil’s side, who have hit form with a front three of Hwang, Matheus Cunha and Pedro Neto, sit 11th in the Premier League with 28 points.
