Sources: Wolves open talks to appoint another ex-Molineux man
Wolves are in talks to bring in Joleon Lescott as Rob Edwards’ number two, sources have told Football Insider.
Edwards is expected to be announced by Wolves in the coming days, after Middlesbrough granted him permission to speak to the Midlands club.
Sources say that hierarchy at the Premier League club want Lescott to come in as part of the former Luton Town manager’s backroom staff.
The 43-year-old has previous experience as a coach in the England senior and under-21 setups.

Joleon Lescott could link up with former Wolves teammate
Lescott came through the Wolves academy and made his first-team debut for the club in 2000 at the age of 17.
The former England international spent six years at Molineux following his promotion into the senior side, before a move to Everton.
Now, Lescott could be set to reunite with his boyhood club, linking up with former Wolves teammate Edwards.
The pair spent two seasons together at the Midlands club between 2004 and 2006.
Wolves are currently eight points adrift of Premier League survival, and are still without a top-flight win this term.
Wolves believe Rob Edwards can connect with fans
Meanwhile, Wolves are finalising the appointment of Edwards as they feel he can get the fans behind the team straight away, sources have told Football Insider.

The hierarchy at the club also believe that the Middlesbrough boss will secure instant promotion back to the Premier League if the Midlands club are relegated this season.
As well as his spell as a player, Edwards had a stint as interim manager at Wolves back in 2016, taking charge of two Championship games after the sacking of Walter Zenga.
The 42-year-old is from the area, supports Wolves and has very close links to the club, as a result of his time at Molineux.
