Sources: Wolves will accept £50m Liverpool offer for Ruben Neves after talks held
Wolves are likely to accept an offer of £50million for Ruben Neves even if they avoid relegation to the Championship, sources have told Football Insider.
This site revealed on Monday (20 March) that the 26-year-old is ready to quit Molineux this summer as he wants a new challenge at the highest level possible.
Barcelona, Liverpool and Man United are among the clubs keen to move for Neves on a cut-price deal – and Wolves are not likely to stand in his way.
Football Insider understands Liverpool enquired about Neves in January but were told he was not for sale at that time.
The midfielder is now out of contract in 15 months and Wolves have held renewal talks – but have been left unsatisfied with how they have progressed.
Neves is the prize asset at Molineux and his asking price will reflect that when interested clubs make contact.
The Midlands club do not want to let him enter the final 12 months of his deal and risk him signing a pre-contract agreement with a foreign side in January 2024.
Sources with knowledge of the situation have revealed that a fee of between £40-50million could be enough to prise him away in the event of Wolves’ potential relegation to the Championship.
However, if they avoid the drop – the Portugal international could fetch between £50-60million.
Neves has been a mainstay at Wolves side since joining the club in the Championship back in 2017 and earns a reported wage of £50,000-a-week.
He was made the club captain last summer (2022) and has turned out 32 times across all competitions as a regular starter this season, scoring five goals.

The threat of relegation is still looming large at Molineux following their 4-2 defeat against Leeds on Saturday (18 March).
They sit 13th in the Premier League but have a lead of just four points over 18th-place West Ham.
