South American expert reveals latest on Tottenham’s pursuit of Nico Paz
Tottenham Hotspur have upped their interest in several attacking options recently including Como’s Nico Paz.
Tottenham fans had to swallow the tough pill that was missing out on a deal to sign Eberechi Eze after the 27-year-old chose Arsenal over them.
Thomas Frank has been on the hunt for attacking reinforcements since the severity of James Maddison’s injury was revealed, adding to Spurs’ injury woes with Dejan Kulusevski.
In recent weeks, Daniel Levy has reportedly pivoted his interest to Como’s Argentinian starlet, Nico Paz, and a South American football expert has weighed in on the news.

Nico Paz resembles one of Tottenham’s brightest stars
Paz has largely operated as an attacking midfielder for Cesc Fabregas’ side, and the former Real Madrid talent has bags of potential.
Speaking to Sky Sports, South American football expert Tim Vickery said: “Nico Paz plays for Argentina. He’s just started his international career. But he’s European, born and bred.
“He’s the son of Pablo Paz, who was a World Cup defender for Argentina. He made the most of his career in Europe. So Nico Paz came up through the youth ranks with Real Madrid,” Vickery continued.
“He’s at Como, but Real Madrid have an interest in him and they have a buy-back. Paz, so they’re watching his progress very, very closely. Paz has a really sweet left foot.
“If you’re thinking of Tottenham’s and long-term strategies, he’s a little bit of a left-footed version of [Lucas] Bergvall, someone who, possibly, if you were to put him in the Premier League right now, might find that a little bit of a step up at this stage of his career.
“But Tottenham would be thinking long-term. The stumbling block there, though, is that Real Madrid have a long-term interest in this player.”
Nico Paz could bring an X-Factor to Tottenham’s attack

Football Insider verdict
The issues regarding a potential move for Paz are embroiled in the issues revolving around a Real Madrid’s right to refusal, when another team bids for the Argentine.
If Tottenham were able to better whatever offer Los Blancos would be willing to put in for Paz the 20-year-old would bring an X-Factor to Spurs’ squad.

Frank has numerous serviceable and good level Premier League talents but no one that would be labelled as a truly world class potential game changer.
Paz can play on the right, cutting inside on his left foot, at attacking midfield or even upfront and that versatility, partnered with his immense quality would be a huge boost for Frank’s squad.
