Spotted: Leeds chief Victor Orta in talks with reportedly unwanted forward on big wages
Leeds United director of football Victor Orta has been spotted in talks with Sheffield Wednesday forward Jordan Rhodes.
The Whites’ transfer chief appeared to have approach Rhodes, 28, after Paul Heckingbottom’s men lost 2-1 to the Owls at Elland Road on Saturday.
Sports journalist student Sam Isles posted an image of Orta speaking to the Scotland international on his personal Twitter account.

The Sun has recently reported that Sheffield Wednesday have made Rhodes available to leave Hillsborough on loan in the summer with Ipswich and Bolton likely to make a move for him.
The former Blackburn and Huddersfield striker cost the Owls £10million last year and is earning big wages, despite his poor form in front of goal with just six goals to his name in 32 appearances across all competitions.

Leeds may well be in the market for a new centre-forward or two in the summer when Pierre-Michel Lasogga’s loan comes to an end and the club has the chance to get rid of some of the duds that were bought last year. Orta has looked for and wide in his recruitment drive at Elland Road but looks to have set his sights just down the M1 for what could potentially be the marquee signing in the summer. Rhodes was a good striker in the Championship but his form has gone nosedived at Middlesbrough and Sheffield Wednesday. Leeds could help revive that goalscoring form that he had at Huddersfield and Blackburn, but it does not seem likely.
