Paul Robinson is excited by the “mouthwatering prospect” of Gareth Bale lining up alongside Harry Kane and Son Heung-min for Tottenham this season.

The former White Hart Lane number one, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, claimed that such a front three would “rival” the attacks of Liverpool and Manchester United.

The club confirmed on Saturday that the 31-year-old had returned to Spurs on an season-long loan deal from Real Madrid.

Bale will most likely line up on the right hand side of a front three for Jose Mourinho’s side with Son and Kane, who starred in yesterday’s win at Southampton, alongside him.

Son scored four goals yesterday, all of which were assisted by Kane, as the Lilywhites beat the Saints 5-2 at St. Mary’s.

When asked by Football Insider where he thinks Bale will line up for Spurs this season, Robinson said:

“When you throw Gareth Bale in with Harry Kane and Son Heung-min, you have a front three there that rivals anyones in the Premier League.

“We talk about the front three that Liverpool have got and the front three that Manchester United have got – Kane, Son, Bale when fully fit can rival Liverpool and any team in the Premier League.

“A fit Gareth Bale, whether it be with Kane, Son, Moura or Bergwijn, is a mouthwatering prospect. Really, really clever, outstanding signing from the club.”

However, fans will have to wait for their first glimpse of Bale in action as he faces up to a month out with a knee injury.

Speaking on when the winger may return, Mourinho said: “I don’t know when Gareth can be back. The only thing that I know is that the motivation is high, he is so happy to be with a club of his heart, he is so happy to play for us.”
