Stan Collymore critical of Aston Villa after win against QPR
By Amir Mir
Stan Collymore has stated that he is “disappointed” when watching Aston Villa and said he “cannot see” what they are trying to do following their 1-0 win at QPR on Sunday afternoon.
Steve Bruce’ side picked up a valuable three points in their push for promotion as they closed the gap on the top six to six points going into a busy and important festive period.
Striker Jonathan Kodjia, who missed a first-half penalty, scored 15 minutes from time to help Bruce secure his sixth win in 11 games as boss.
The away side had 18 shots on goal, with Bruce making six changes to the team that was beaten 1-0 at Norwich in midweek.
The tactical change paid off as the likes of Leandro Bacuna, Nathan Baker and goalkeeper Mark Bunn put in stellar performances for their side.

On his football podcast, Call Collymore which aired on December 18, the former Villa man offered his honest thoughts on the club at this moment in time.
“I’m still a bit disappointed when watching Villa,” said Collymore. “I cannot see what we are trying to do.”
The win means Villa are 13th in the Championship table on 31 points from 22 games, six off Sheffield Wednesday who occupy the final play-off spot.
The Midlands side host newly-promoted Burton Albion on Boxing Day, before taking on Garry Monk’s Leeds three days later in what will be a mouth-watering contest.
Bruce will be hoping his star striker, Kodjia will be able to fire them to victory as he has scored eight goals in 17 league games this season.
