Stan Collymore issues strong reaction on Jadon Sancho to Aston Villa transfer update
Stan Collymore made his feelings more than clear after Aston Villa were linked with a shock move for Man United’s Jadon Sancho.
Unai Emery had a different United winger at his disposal for the second half of the 2024/25 season, signing Marcus Rashford on a six-month deal, who is now keen to join Barcelona this summer.
Sancho, on the other hand, spent the entire season with Enzo Maresca‘s Chelsea, notching five goals and eight assists in 41 appearances, even scoring in the Europa Conference League final victory in Poland.
Despite impressing in bursts at Stamford Bridge, the 25-year-old was unable to seal a permanent move away from Old Trafford, with several clubs now being linked with capturing his signature this summer.
There is no doubt over his ability in the final third, but having been made an outcast in Manchester by Erik ten Hag, Collymore is in no mood to take a chance on the former Borussia Dortmund man.

Stan Collymore tells Aston Villa to steer clear of surprise transfer
Taking to X (5 June), Collymore reacted to a post suggesting Sancho had emerged as a surprise target at Villa Park.
The former striker simply responded with a meme, saying the words: “It’s a hard no”.
Unai Emery to find Marcus Rashford replacement at Villa Park
Football Insider verdict
Noni Madueke could be a potential replacement for Rashford after the news of Chelsea being open to offers this summer, but it is not so simple for the Villans to strike deals now.
Villa narrowly missed out on qualification to the Champions League for next season, with the ugly head of PSR restrictions rearing at Villa Park this summer.
Youri Tielemans has already been linked with a Villa exit due to financial concerns, and so too have Morgan Rogers, Ollie Watkins, and Emi Martinez.

Finding affordable replacements for Rashford and Marco Asensio will not be a simple task over the coming weeks, but with Emery wanting to fight for even more next season, there is no option but to do exactly that.
Sancho does not seem like the type of player who would fit in well at Villa Park, not just because of his wages but also his attitude off the pitch, which will not blend well with the other players.
Collymore’s refusal to even consider the transfer is completely understandable, and likely an opinion that many fans at Villa Park will hold, but a new winger is desperately needed this summer.
