Stan Collymore predicts Tottenham v Manchester United
By Matt Farr
Stan Collymore believes Tottenham will finish their White Hart Lane tenure on a high with a victory over Manchester United.
The pundit took to his personal Twitter account on Friday afternoon to deliver his prediction for the upcoming tie, where he backed Tottenham to run out 2-0 winners.
The north London club host United in the Premier League on Sunday for what will be their final ever match at White Hart Lane, as they prepare to embark upon a new chapter at Wembley next season.
But Collymore, an ex-Premier League footballer, does not expect Tottenham to fall prey to the landmark occasion, instead backing them to return to winning ways, and deal a costly blow to United’s top four ambitions.
Tottenham suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to West Ham a week ago, which saw them fall seven points behind league leaders Chelsea in the Premier League title race with just three matches remaining.
A win over United, as Collymore predicts, would ensure Tottenham are guaranteed at least a second-placed finish this season, with games against Leicester and Hull still to come.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side will have the added boost of having had a longer rest period since their last outing, with United having played in the Europa League on Thursday night.
In other Tottenham news, Pochettino has responded to speculation about an £8.5million offer from a European giant.
